Rosacea SocietyThe four stages of rosacea

There is no cause of rosacea, but scientists are quickly discovering more and more about this disfiguring disease. When caught early, rosacea remains a mild case. If untreated, however, rosacea can become a condition called rhinophyma, a permanent swelling of tissue around the nose leading to permanent disfigurement.

Rosacea is divided into four types or stages: pre-rosacea, mild, moderate and severe. With all cases of rosacea, the skin looks to be like acne, but it really is not.

The National Rosacea Society class rosacea into four subtypes. The first Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, is a mild form in which the face, especially the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks, to develop a bright red appearance. These bright red spots are usually more noticeable after one drink, drive trucks, stressful situation, or a spicy meal.

The second subtype, papulopustular rosacea, is just like the sounds: redness with transient papules or pustules. This is the guy who coined the term adult acne "seems like acne vulgaris. Some customers have taken for acne and have compounded the problem by treating as acne, dryness or peeling . The absence of black spots with burning and tingling sensations may prove to rosacea.

The third, phymatous rosacea is an extreme form of rosacea. It is the most devastating, because it includes thickening skin, irregular surface texture and the deformation of the face. Rhinophyma (bulbous nose) is the most common expression of phymatous rosacea, but it can occur in other places like the chin, forehead, cheeks and ears.

Finally, symptoms of ocular rosacea include: appearance, bloodshot or watery, foreign body sensation, burning, stinging, dryness, itching, light sensitivity, blurred vision, irritation of the skin on the eyelids and irregularity of the eyelid. It may also be experienced and styes, dry, itchy eyes, and sometimes the appearance of pink eye.

Because of the close connection with Celtic ancestry, most victims have rosacea pale, sensitive skin. For this reason it is essential to use a strong sunscreen or wear a wide brimmed hat. The sun can damage the skin and eventually lead to skin cancer on the road. A natural sunscreen from minerals such as titanium or zinc as the block is better for sensitive skin genetically that sunscreen chemicals may irritate the skin, reduce the immunity of the skin clean skin + Usually, these chemical sunscreens must be renewed every 60-90 minutes.

Although there is no cure, many doctors recommend their patients off all the alcohol, avoid spicy foods, take supplements of Omega 3 fatty acids, and use unscented, hypoallergenic products for face. A diet of rosacea, decent routine skin care, and use of anti-acne rosacea which help soothe the skin instead of irritating are the best form of defense. Until a cause of rosacea is determined, there is really no way to get rid of the disease, but keeping the symptoms at a minimum helps to improve your appearance, self esteem, and prevents developing rhinophyma in the decades to come.
