Retina Cream

The doctor said that disscoloration could have come from the pill, but I disscontinued 3 years ago and since have used a product called the retina dermatolagist and whitening cream, but I used it for months and disscoloration of brown above my upper lip is still there. I had 3 facials done and the problem photo resurrfaces just shortly after. Does anyone know an effective way to address this problem? I am a naturally dark complected because I have many Indians, me and my mother said that her side of the family has a history of something called (mellasma) Could this be happening? If yes, how do I treat?
