Prescription Pads

Prescription PadsWhy is Naprosyn written on prescription pads for narcotics?

I fractured ankle, the other day and the doctor prescribed hydrocodone and Naprosyn. I know that hydrocodone is a narcotic and requires to be written on the green carpet, but was well Naprosyn. I wondered why.

The first thought I had is that the doctor did not want to get out a pad to write on the prescription Naprosyn. I went and did some research to see if there would be a possible reason why it would be necessary to write on a block of narcotics.

The only thing I found that struck me as a reason why it would be classified more controlled is:

"Naprosyn may interfere with certain laboratory tests. Make sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are taking Naprosyn."

To me that says maybe you would test a false positive for something and you need further evidence that you were prescribed Naprosyn. You do not know if it's my best guess. Hope that helps!

because naproxyn hydrocodiene can mix and react and interact with each other and cause side effects if a high enough dose, such as dopiness and an inability to think.
I doubt this is the dose high enough to fracture of the ankle, but they must be very vigilant.
Good luck!
hope you feel better!

(And he even explains codiene)
