Play Dance Dance Revolution

For Christmas, my brother and I am the dance floor for the latest Dance Dance Revolution. The thing is that we have the carpet, not the game pad is compatible for the Wii, we have. My question is: can we still play Dance Dance Revolution, if we only have the mat that plugs into the Wii?
I would like to test myself, but we are at my grandparents' house, so we do not have the Wii here. THANKS!

No, you have the game if you want to play Dance Dance Revolultion. The carpet is only a controller, not the game itself.

Yes, you need a version of DDR that runs on the Wii. If you do not everyone just buy the carpet and the disc would be useless!
So no, unfortunately you can not play DDR if you have only the carpet.

There is no game to play if you do not ... It's like asking if you can play the Wii with a single controller and no games.
