Foot Support Foot support? Hello, I always wear flip flops, converse, sandals, etc. always flat. Could this be bad for the bottom of my feet? Should I start wearing running shoes or something that makes you walk a little support? The foot is designed to support, and to act as a buffer "A" when we walk. We were originally designed for walking barefoot, without any arch support. The idea that we need to fill the arch of the foot to help our feet "work better" is based on the logic completely wrong. Many people feel pain at the end of the day in their feet. You can have flat feet or high arches, fallen arches or what could cause harm to your feet - this can help to make bows from the store, like Dr. Scholl, or take a position on flip flops with bows in them to give your feet a little extra support. Your feet can still hurt after a long day, even with that or not. I would not necessarily invest in running shoes - I'm not really a kind of person who likes to wear running shoes on a normal basis. I prefer fashionable shoes, and it seems that you, too. If it becomes a real problem, go see a doctor who could give you foot orthoses, or perhaps another method that will allow your feet hurt less. Definitely wear shoes with proper support! Your arches will fall, if they have not yet, if you continue to wear shoes that do not have adequate arch support. Posted on February 23, 2010.
