Clear Table Pad

To say that I have a wooden dining table that I like, but I hate to use pads and a water table just to have an informal meal, because I did not want spills and condensation from ruining the arrived on my table.

What I want to know is: What is clear, bright, waterproof, scratch-resistant coating, I see on restaurant tables and, sometimes, on banisters or railings in the open air and other wooden furniture and outdoor furniture? Is this a special polyurethane or varnish so? If anyone knows what it is, you know if it can be easily applied by a novice from domestic wood or furniture?

It is a polyurethane coating, but if you use it on the wood well, you wreck the wood and the value of the table you are trying to protect is gone. For casual meals, it would be preferable to use a water seal that is easy to clean, and then deleted.

Get a gloss finish for waterproof timber in any paint store or Lowes near you
