Should I open the brake reservoir when changing brake pads disc? Sometimes I do, sometimes I forget. Never had a problem. But I'm front and rear on both cars this weekend and I wonder in the right direction.

on newer models of the CAP is drained so it's not nessesary unless someone thought it was a good idea to add liquid to the existence resivore instead of replacing buffer (bad idea) when you want to remove the cap so that excess liquid can get to there is a firewall and easier floor
