Cashel Saddle Pads

Hello, I am interested in buying the Cashel Soft Saddle, but the product information is a bit confusing. Do you need to use a buffer when you ride it? I know Cashel sells a cushion, but it is optional and said to add "more comfortable". If a buffer is needed, you can use a regular seat belt in English instead of Cashel one?
