Beauty Shops

Beauty ShopsIn a row of 8 stores can I stop the hairdresser next to my tanning / nail / beauty salon nails?

I have a small shop in a row of 8 other stores. We offer Tanning & Nails & Beauty worked hard to make our business Up & Running. Hairdressers side is planning to rent a table in their shop to a nail technician offering the same services we do. If I understand the competition can be healthy I find this a problem because it is a very small area we are talking with little passing trade. I wonder if I can argue with that and if so, how can I do?

You can talk to your landlord and ask him to restrict the shop next to yours to offer competing services. Note that if the hairdresser is offering these services in your own business will suffer and that could be bad for the owner. Also, check your lease to see if there is any language regarding non-competition - it makes no sense for a landlord to offer two companies that offer the same service in the same complex.

Otherwise you can go to this shop and come to some sort of agreement that is both out of business - may offer references and / or discounts for people who do their hair and nails as well day?

But failing that, there is generally no legal restriction against someone offering competing services in the same zone. do what they can to gain a competitive advantage.

You should talk to your landlord. You should definitely have a clause where the non-competition, but there may be rules in place.
