How can I fix the ceiling fan chain switch Ball fan for my part that broke off without a ball to left? There is some light screwed to the bottom with two ball chain pull switches for light and fan. The fan was broken, so I took the lid and it broke inside the switch box plastic bit. Should I replace the part of the whole light? the little plastic switch for the fan only?
There is nothing to attach a rope that I can find, not a single bullet to the left!
All the switch .. it is quite easy. 5-6 dollars. And do not forget to turn off the power when you change it.
In most cases, the switch can be replaced.
Now make the switch could be a little tricky. Make sure the power circuit is turned off at the breaker switch for maximum safety before attempting to make any UN-wiring.
In addition, if the switch had more than one position, eg different speeds or direction, you'll need to find a switch equivalent. A good lighting store or by contacting the manufacturer and providing the model number can be your best bet.
The problem is that the string ball is not forgiving if it gets pulled too hard. The switch will break as you have known. Why someone does not develop some type of damper pull is a surprise for me. Anyway, you can replace this switch by turning the device off and remove the bottom plate to reveal the switch. Son Mark at the switch damaged so as not to forget where they go. Remove the old and go to shop for a new material.
There are adapters for the chain if it can be reached, you only need to replace the switch may or may not be easy
